International students aiming for Canada are now not restricted by ‘Field of study’ for PGWP. IRCC has removed field of study restrictions for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)!
– All Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees from any PGWP-eligible Designated Learning Institution (DLI)—whether public or private university, college, polytechnic, or even flight school—now qualify for PGWP.
– That means Bachelor’s programs outside the previously restricted 6 fields of study are now PGWP-eligible!
Bringing the General PGWP Eligibility to:
– At least 8 months (or 900 hours in Quebec) of full-time study at an eligible DLI.
– Full-time status each semester is required.
– Distance learning: More than 50% online = NOT eligible for PGWP.
– Apply within 180 days of program completion while holding a valid study permit.
– CLB 7 language requirement
